Rajani Pandit never married. She reasons, “Part of my job is to be accessible 24×7. You can reach me any time of the day or at night on my phone. But it has its drawbacks. I don’t sleep very well anymore though. But I am not complaining. I love what I do” (Vasundara).
Pandit reports that often society asks her, if she believes in love. Pandit explains, “I can’t say there’s no such thing as love. Love is there in this world. But the love of a mother to a child is different from that of a girl and boy or husband and wife” (Pandit).
Pandit further clarifies that she was never interested in married life. She reasons that if she were married with children, she would not have been able to do her job successfully. Once she contemplated adopting a girl, but she never found the time to follow through.
